Reduce your traffic and attacks by blocking countries that your content does not apply to. Use the IQ Block Country plug-in. Manually download, unzip and copy to the plug-in directory (wordpress/wp-content/plugins). Also download the GeoIP database from MaxMind here. Untar it and copy the file to same directory as the IQ Block Country plug-in.

An excellent plug-in for blocking known bad IP’s from a database (Project Honey Pot containing up-to-date IP’s), is Bad Behavior however it only works with a MySQL database on WordPress. I am trying to get  a version for SQLite and or rewrite it myself.

Clear the Quick Cache after setting up IQ Block Country to take effect

To test IQ put  your country in the the list. You will be blocked on all WordPress pages except to the /wordpress/wp-admin page.
